Professional Psychological Support
Meet Sue Kessner
I have spent a lifetime encouraging children and adults to achieve freedom and serenity through the therapeutic process. My Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from San Francisco State University led me on a career path that covered many diverse fields, from helping to develop an award winning child safety program, to substance abuse prevention and treatment, to guiding parents to support their children in a multitude of healthy ways. Since 1988, I have worked in Bay Area schools as a counselor and directed several student and family support programs, where I had a role in aiding children and families to lead happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives.
I have held my LPCC license for over a decade and worked in private practice and for group practices since 2014. My most recent chapter of work has been as an affiliated therapist for Feeling Good Institute in Mountain View. I am a Level 3 Certified TEAM Therapist. FGI is the training arm of Dr. David Burns' model of CBT called TEAM CBT. It combines assessment, empathy and motivational agenda setting with hundreds of methods across many modalities to help clients feel better, faster. Please refer to the TEAM CBT page to learn more about this highly effective form of therapy.
