People often struggle during times of transition. Even the positive times can be stressful. I specialize in working with individuals who are at these transition points in their lives, and my sweet spot is empowering women to come through these points with grace. Dealing with becoming one’s own person in young adulthood, getting married and starting a family, navigating the difficulties that can occur in relationships (including separation and divorce), learning to live harmoniously in blended families, getting acclimated to an empty nest, coping with the needs of aging parents and coming to terms with our own aging are all examples of the often stressful transitions which we may experience over a lifetime. Though originally trained in person-centered therapy, I have garnered and learned many interventions over the years, from constructive to solution focused to cognitive behavioral therapies, all of which can make transitions easier to traverse.
I also have proficiency in counseling clients facing the following tough stumbling blocks:
- Drug and Alcohol Dependence and Abuse
- Codependency Recovery
- Depression and Anxiety
- Childhood Trauma
- Death and Bereavement
- Adult Children of Alcoholics Issues
- Work and Career Transitions
I create an atmosphere of safety where my clients can begin to confront and explore their deepest issues, those very things that block them from attaining the joy and serenity that are so rightly theirs. Through our work together my clients and I transform trauma into positive perspectives and experiences, moving out of the problem and into the solution.
